Please let us know whether this statement is authentic or not.
If it is, then please explain the meanings of the three names mentioned therein.
Lastly, would you advise naming a child Ahyad based on the above statement?

Answer

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Assalaamu `alaykum waRahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

1) The Muhaditheen have classified this hadith to be very weak.
(lisaan ul mizaan Vol.2 Pg44, Maktabah Almatbooat Alislaamiyah), (Tanzeehu Shariyah Vol.1 Pg338, Darul Kutub Almiyah, Beirut )

2) The name is not Ahyad. It is pronounced as Aheed. (Umdatul Qari, Vol 16, Pg 97, Maktabah Rashidiyah)

3) The name Aheed means “He who takes to one side”. (Treasury of Muslim names Pg 25)

It is permissible to keep this name.

And Allah knows best
