If a woman gets a child after marriage, is all her sins forgiven?
Question
The question text was not published separately; the title stands in for it.
If a woman gets a child after marriage, is all her sins forgiven?
Answer
In principle, when a person performs virtuous deeds, his/her minor sins are forgiven without making Tawbah.
As regards major sins, making Tawbah is necessary. To bear a child is indeed a very great act of virtue. From the inception of pregnancy till birth, the woman is in constant Ibaadat (worship) and is being rewarded for every moment of that time. Therefore, a woman can be optimistic of her minor sins being forgiven during pregnancy and birth. If Allah wills, He may forgive the major sins as well without her making Tawbah.

Fatawa SA is an independent, read-only index of fatawa already published by Darul Iftaa Mahmudiyyah (AskImam). It is not a fatwa service. For your own situation, ask the issuing Darul Ifta directly.
