Is there any hadith mentioning about a very big war before the arrival of Imam Mahdi?
Question
I came to know that there will be a very big war before Imam Mahdi takes power. This war will lead to a whole distruction of the computer era. This is explained, as it is said in many hadith that swords will be used as weaopons in the last wars. So present situation of world has to change.Can you explain please. Jazakallah Khair.

There will be many wars taking place before the era of Imaam Mahdi. Hereunder is one Hadith pertaining to that:
Hadhrat Umm Salma (Radhiallaahu Anha) reports that the blessed Rasul (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) said, 'There will be differences at the time of the death of a Khalifah. Then a man of the inhabitants of Madinah will flee to Makkah Mukarramah. Some people will come to him and take him out though he will be unwilling. Then, they will pledge allegiance to him between the corners of Ka'bah (Hajar-e-Aswad) and Maqaame-e-Ebraahim. An Army from Syria will be sent to fight him (Mahdi). They will sink to the ground in an open plain ground between Makkah Mukarramah and Madinah Munawwarah. When this will happen, the eminent saints of Syria and Iraq will
come and take allegiance to him. Imaam Mahdi will distribute the wealth. He will then govern the people according to the ways of Shari'ah and establish Islam on earth. He will live for seven years and then die and the Muslims will perform his Janaaza.' (Abu Dawood pg.589)
