Is it permissible to sell fireworks?

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

In principle, any item that has dual or multiple uses, of which some maybe of permissible use and others impermissible uses may be sold. The seller will not be responsible if the purchaser uses the item in an impermissible way. With regards to fireworks, we are unaware of any permissible avenue in which they may be used. Fireworks are used normally to celebrate festivities like New Year’s Day or Diwali etc. Hence, it is not permissible to sell fireworks.
