Threatening one’s wife with a written Talāq.
Question
I had a fight with my wife on the telephone and by text messaging and she was asking me to divorce her but I was not willing to do this, she was messaging me and arguing again and just to make her afraid I said (lie) to her in text message that I am here with one mufti sahib for consultation and everything has been written just my signature is balance and after then you will understand the consequences but in real nothing was written I said this all with not intention of divorce and without uttering the word divorce, I did this just to make afraid my wife that she refrain herself to asking the divorce. Please can you clarify that because of this statement is there any effect on nikah?

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykumwa-rahmatullāhiwa-barakātuh.
You have not issued your wife a talaq[1]. Your marriage remains intact.
