Can a husband see his wife after her death?
Question
I've been hearing people say when a woman dies her husband can not look at her. Could you please confirm this with dalaail.
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
According to the Hanafi Madhab, it is permissible for a husband to see his wife after she has passed away. However, he cannot touch or bathe her[1].
