Is it permissible to read Quran in a house three days after a death?
Question
is it not allowed to read quran in house during 3 days after death?
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
You may read Quran after the death of an individual whenever you want to. If you intend to pass on the reward of the recitation to the deceased, you may do so individually.[1]
However, specifying three days for reading Quran or doing it in any specific manner is an innovation and is impermissible.[2]
