Question

Please tell me who are the enemies of shaytan and who are the friends of shaytan ?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

The answer is simple.

Whoever is the friend of Allah is the enemy of Shaytaan and whoever is the friend of Shaytaan is the enemy of Allah. [1]

This is understood from the following verse:

Translation: “Allah is the protector (ally) of those who believe, bringing them from the multitude of darkness (kufr, shirk, falsehood) into the light (Islam the truth). As for the disbelievers, their allies are the taaghoot (Shayateen), who bring out of the light and (take them back) into the multitude of darkness. These are the people of the fire, and they will be in it forever.”

(Surah Al-Baqarah, Verse 257)

In another verse, Allah says:

Translation: Allah said: “Behold! Verily, for the friends of Allah there shall be no fear (about the future), nor shall they grieve. (The friends of Allah are) Those who believe and are ever pious in their actions. To them are glad tidings in this life and in the hereafter. There is no changing the words (decrees and promises) of Allah. This (success of Allah’s friends) is the greatest success.

(Surah Yunus, Verse 62-64)

My beloved Ustaadh, Hadhrat Mufti Ebrahim Desai (Hafidhaullah) has mentioned very effective tips in his talks about avoiding the traps of shaytaan.

Refer to the following talk (especially the last few minutes):

1. The attacks of the Shaytaan - Audio by Hadhrat Mufti Ebrahim Desai (Hafidhaullah)

2. Another talk that also has practical tips to apply (especially after the 28th minute) is:
