"INNALLAZI FARADA ALAIKAL QUR'ANA LARAADUKA ILA MA'D", if one inscribes this on the wall of his house with his index finger, before starting a journey, he will come back home safe and sound.

With regards to the Aayat mentioned. It is recorded in the book, 'Haashiyatus Saawi' that a traveller should recite this verse to ensure a safe return. The recitation is sufficient. This verse can be found in Surah Qasas Aayat 85
and Allah Ta'ala Knows Best
