Question

Is it permissible to plants the marigold plant? I heard that these plants are used as hindu symbols

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Brother in Islam,

Marigold plants are beautiful and have many health benefits such as:[1]

Lowering inflammation

Reducing eye inflammation and conjunctivitis.

Serves as an antiseptic.

Heals Skin Wounds, Burns and Rashes.

Helps Reduce Haemorrhoid Pain.

Eases Cramps and Spasms. ...

Repels insects etc.

Accordingly, it is permissible to plant the marigold plants to enjoy the beauty and health benefits of Marigold plants.

The Hindus' use of the Marigold plants as a symbol does not render the Marigold plant as prohibited for Muslims.

And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best
