Can a woman use a menstrual cup?

Can a woman use a menstrual cup for her period instead of using pads?
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu 'alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
It is Makrooh (undesirable) for a woman to use a menstrual cup. A woman in her menstruation should use menstrual pads or anything that is used externally.[1]

وفي شرح الوقاية ثم وضع الكرسف مستحب للبكر في الحيض وللثيب في كل حال وموضعه موضع البكارة ويكره في الفرج الداخل.

وأما الكرسف: فسنة للبكر عند الحيض فقط وللثيب مطلقا ويسن تطييبه بمسك ونحوه ويكره وضعه في الفرج الداخل.
