Question

During Iqamah, does the Muadhin look right and left when saying Haya 'alal Falah and Haya 'alas Salah? Or does he look straight ahead?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu 'alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

It is Mustahab (desirable) for the Muadhin, when giving Iqamah, to look right when saying حي على الصلوة and look left when saying حي على الفلاح.[1]

Looking straight without turning to the right and left is also permissible.
