Was wondering why only the Middle Eastern Prophets are mentioned by name in the Qur’an. Since we know that prophets were sent to every corner of the world, why were their names not mentioned?

Answer

Allah Ta'ala sent approximately 120 000 prophets to guide mankind. Allah Ta' ala says, 'From among them, we mentioned some and did not mention others.'

Allah is Hakim (The All-Wise). The wisdom for not mentioning every prophet in the Qur'aan is best known by Allah.

Ask AskImam

Fatawa SA is an independent, read-only index of fatawa already published by Darul Iftaa Mahmudiyyah (AskImam). It is not a fatwa service. For your own situation, ask the issuing Darul Ifta directly.
