Multiple Eid Salaah In One Masjid
Question
If the Masjid of the city is too small to accommodate everyone for Eid Salaat , is it permissible to do two or three Jamaat for Eid Salaat in the Masjid ? Can the Imam of the second Jamat be placed in the same place as the Imam of the first Jamaat?
Answer
To conduct more than one Eid Salaah at one place is Makrooh (disliked) in Shariah; even though the Eid Salah will valid. In the enquired scenario, if there is no place where the Muslim males of the locality can fit and perform their Eid Salah at once or they are running out of time, they will be allowed to establish more than one Jamaat (congregation) as required at one place on condition that the Imaams are different for both the congregations.
