A Scarf Hanging Loosely While Performing Salaah
Question
Is it alright to wear loose things on your clothing while in salaah. e.g. a scarf.
Answer
To place a scarf on the head and leave the two ends loose is Makrooh as such an act interferes with one’s concentration in Salaah. A person will always be concerned of setting the scarf in place.

يكره للمصلي سبعة وسبعون شيئا ترك واجب أو سنة عمدا كعبثه بثوبه وبدنه وقلب الحصا إلا للسجود مرة وفرقعة الأصابع وتشبيكها والتخصر والالفتات بعنقه والاقعاء وافتراش ذراعيه وتشمير كميه عنهما وصلاته في السراويل مع قدرته على لبس القميص ورد السلام بالإشارة والتربع بلا عذر وعقص شعره والاعتجار وهو شد الرأس بالمنديل وترك وسطها مكشوفا وكف ثوبه وسدله والاندراج فيه بحيث لا يخرج يديه وجعل الثوب تحت إبطه الأيمن وطرح جانبيه على عاتقه الأيسر
