The Last Point At Which A Masbooq (Latecomer) Can Join The Salaah
Question
I have noticed many a times brothers coming late make Takbeer (to enter salaah) when the Imaam has
a. Started/completed the first salaam to end the salaah or
b. As the person is lifting his hands to make Takbeer the imaam starts salaam to end the salaah.
Is this salaah valid (for the person joining the jamaat) and if he has done this should he repeat the salaah?
Which is the last time a person can join the salaah?
Does the starting of the first salaam by the imaam represent the end of the salaah?
Answer
If the Imaam when making his first Salaam says: السلام ,then a person joins in the Salaah, his Salaah will not be valid. He will have to start his Salaah again. The first Salaam does represent the end of the Salaah.
The last time a person can join the Salaah is when he is able to make Takbeere-Tahrimah and sit down in Qa’dah with the Imaam before he makes Salaam.
