Placement Of The Legs Of A Chair In A Saff
Question
Where should the rear legs of the chair be placed in a saff?
Answer
When there is only one Muqtadee praying on a chair then he should position himself in such a manner where his toes are positioned in line with the Imam’s heels and he’s on the right-hand side of the imam. If the Muqtadee is praying on a chair and has people praying behind him then the hind legs of his chair should be on the line so that he don’t cause any hindrance to those praying behind him.

م: (ولا يتأخر عن الإمام) ش:؛ لأن التأخر خلاف السنة، وإن كان المقتدي أطول وسجوده قدام الإمام لا يضره؛ لأن العبرة بموضع الوقوف، كما لو وقف في الصف فوقوع سجود الإمام يطوله.
م: (وعن محمد أنه يضع أصابعه عند عقب الإمام) ش: كما هو المشهور من عمل العامة م: (والأول هو الظاهر) ش: أي قيام المقتدي عن يمين الإمام بدون التأخر هو ظاهر الرواية ووجهه حديث ابن عباس – رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا -.
م: (فإن صلى خلفه أو في يساره جاز وهو مسيء) ش: أي وإن صلى المقتدي خلف الإمام أو عن يساره، والحال أنه وحده جاز والحال أنه مسيء أي فاعل فعل السيئ م: (لأنه خالف السنة) ش: وهو ما ذكر حديث ابن عباس آنفا، وعن شيخ الإسلام من مشايخنا من قال: الجواب في الفصلين وهو ما لو قام عن يساره أو خلفه واحد؛ لأنه ترك السنة في القيام فيكون مكروها.
