Insect Zappers
Question
Please advise if one is permitted to use a fly and mosquito zapper if the above have become pests.
There are two types: one is a handheld racket used to swat the insects, the other is a stand-alone version that attracts them with a light. Please advise on both.
Answer
In principle, it is permissible to kill such insects that inflict harm. Accordingly, it is preferable not to kill insects that do not inflict harm .
To control insects that become pests, one should opt as a first resort for the use of insecticides, sprays and coils, etc.
If using the fly and mosquito zapper results in burning and incinerating the insects, then it would not be permissible as it is forbidden to kill insects with fire. If however, these contraptions kill the insects by shocking and electrocuting them (not by incinerating them), it would be permissible to use them. But then too, this method should be deployed when it is the only effective method of control in a certain area where use of insecticides and coils etc. do not produce the desired results.

قتل الزنبور والحشرات هل يباح في الشرع ابتداء من غير إيذاء وهل يثاب على قتلهم؟ قال لا يثاب على ذلك وإن لم يوجد منه الإيذاء فالأولى أن لا يتعرض بقتل شيء منه كذا في جواهر الفتاوى.

موذی جانوروں کو مارنا
سوال : کتا ، بلی مکھیی، چیونٹی ، مکڑی وغیرہ تکلیف دہ جانوروں اور کیڑوں کو قتل کرنا جائز ہے یا نہیں ، اور قتل کرنے کا کیا طریقہ اختیارکیا جائے ؟ بینوا توجروا۔
الجواب باسم ملهم الصواب
جا نورا در حشرات الارض اگر ا بتداء بالاذی کریں تو ان کے قتل میں کوئی حرج نہیں درنہ خلاف اولی ہے۔
سانپ اور بچھو چونکہ خلقت موذی ہی ہوتے ہیں اس لئے ان کو مارنا جائز بلکہ باعث ثواب ہے، کاٹنے والے کتے اور موذی بلی کا بھی یہی حکم ہے ۔
موذی جانوروں اور حشرات الارض کو مارنے کے لئے ایسا طریقہ اختیار کیا جائے کہ جلد جان نکل جائے ۔ آگ میں جلانا جائز نہیں ۔

مکھیوں اور مچھروں کو برقی رو سے مارنا جائز ہے
سوال: مچھروں اور کھیوں کو مارنے کے لئے ایک برقی آلہ یہاں استعمال ہوتا ہے جس کے اندر ایک ٹیوب لائٹ سے روشنی ہوتی ہے اور اس کے اوپر ایک جالی میں انتہائی طاقت ور برقی رو دوڑ جاتی ہے، جونہی مچھر یا مکھی اس روشنی کے قریب جانے کی کوشش کرتے ہیں انہیں اس برقی رووالی جالی سے گزرنا پڑتا ہے، اس میں چونکہ انتہائی طاقت ور برقی رو ہوتی ہے، جس کی بنا پر وہ جل جاتے ہیں ، اس کا استعمال شرعاً کیسا ہے؟
