Replacing natural grass with astro turf

What is the Shariah viewpoint in regards to removing natural grass and replacing it with Astro turf?
Answer
We do not find any rulings in the Kitaabs of Fiqh prohibiting us from removing natural grass (in any other place besides Makkah Mukarramah) and replacing it with astro turf etc. You are therefore at liberty to replace your garden with astro turf particularly if this will reduce the high water bill and lessen the burden of maintenance.
