Sharing tuition notes
Question
A student is tutored privately after school by a teacher. Is he permitted to share his notes with other students?
Answer
The notes given to the student (by the tutor) belong to him hence, sharing the notes with fellow students and friends (that are not part of the tuition class) will be permitted. However, if there is an agreement between the tutor and the student that the notes are not to be shared with others, rather, they are solely for the benefit of the recipient, and the student agreed to this, then sharing the notes with others will not be correct in terms of Shariah as we as Muslims are instructed to uphold our pledges.

Fatawa SA is an independent, read-only index of fatawa already published by Darul Ifta Ibn Masood. It is not a fatwa service. For your own situation, ask the issuing Darul Ifta directly.
