Playing verses and Manzil on the phone as Ruqyah
Question
Many parents nowadays play verses of the Quraan and Manzil as Ruqya on their phones for their babies. Will this give the desired effect or not?
Answer
The desired effect will only be found when one recites the Manzil or verses of the Quraan Sharif in person. The playing of a recording is not considered as recitation. Therefore, if a verse of Sajdah is played on a recording, then Sajdah-e-Tilaawat does not become obligatory on the listener. In conclusion, one should recite the verses to derive benefit from them.
