Using toothpaste whilst fasting
Question
Is it permissible for a fasting person to brush their teeth using toothpaste?
Answer
Usage of flavored toothpaste whilst fasting is Makrooh. The same ruling applies to flavored Miswaaks.

قال – رحمه الله – (وكره ذوق شيء ومضغه بلا عذر ومضغ العلك) أما كراهية الذوق فلأنه تعرض لإفساد صومه وذكر بعضهم أن المرأة إذا كان زوجها سيئ الخلق لا بأس بأن تذوق المرأة المرق بلسانها قالوا هذا في الفرض وأما في صوم التطوع فلا يكره لأن الإفطار فيه مباح بالعذر بالاتفاق وبغيره على رواية الحسن عن أبي حنيفة (تبيين الحقائق ص330 ج1)
