Talaaq issued using the words, “Leave the house!”
Question
If the wife says during an argument, “I will leave the house” and in response the husband says, “Ok, then leave!”, but the husband never intended divorce whilst saying so, will divorce occur?
Answer
In the queried scenario Talaaq will not take place as the husband didn’t have the intention of Talaaq. If he had the intention of Talaaq, then Talaaq will be effective.
