Usage of numbers for writing Taweez
Question
What is Mufti Saheb’s ruling on the usage of numbers written in the sequence of ‘Abjad’? Is the use of Taweez permissible? Is it permissible to use numbers in Taweez?
Answer
There is no harm in utilizing numbers according to the numerical values of ‘Abjad’ (to write Tawwez). [Re:- Kifaayatul Mufti Pg.504 Vol.12]

فأَخَذَهُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمِ الظُّلَّةِ – هي سحابة أظلتهم؛ بعد أن عذبوا بالحر الشديد سبعة أيام؛ فاجتمعوا تحتها مستجيرين بها، طامعين في بردها ومائها؛ فأمطرتهم ناراً: فاحترقوا عن آخرهم. قيل: كان لمدين ستة ملوك؛ يسمون: أبجد، هوز، حطى، كلمن، سعفص، قرشت؛ وقد وضعت العرب الكتابة العربية على عدد حروفهم؛ بعد زيادة ستة أحرف؛ جمعوها في ثخذ، ضظغ.
