Best Masjid to perform Salaah in
Question
If there are several Masaajid in an area, which Masjid will be the best to perform Salaah in? The oldest Masjid, or the Masjid with the most Musallis?
Answer
It is better to perform Salaah in the oldest Masjid, but if a new Masjid is built closer to one’s home, then its best to perform Salaah there. In conclusion, it is best to perform Salaah in the Masjid closest to one’s house. [Re:Kitaabun Nawaazil Vol:13 Pg:571]

افضل المساجد مكة، ثم المدينة،ثم القدس، ثم قبا، ثم الأقدم، ثم الأعظم؛ ثم الأقرب، ومسجد أستاذه لدرسه أو لسماع الأخبار أفضل اتفاقا؛ ومسجد حيه أفضل من الجامع. ثم الأقدم أفضل لسبقه حكما، إلا إذا كان الحادث أقرب إلى بيته فإنه أفضل حينئذ لسبقه حقيقة وحكما. (الدر المختار ج1 ص659)
