Clipping the nails on Wednesday
Question
Is it true that one can get leprosy if he cuts his nails on a Wednesday?
Answer
We do not find any such warning in the Quraan or Hadith, hence there is absolutely no problem in clipping the nails on a Wednesday. Yes, the Kitaabs of Fiqh state that biting the nails, and thereby shortening it, is Makrooh and causes leprosy. It is Mustahab to clip the nails on a Friday.
