Additional wages for a domestic assisting in the business
Question
If a woman has a home-run business and the domestic helper assists with work related to the business, must she be given separate wages for helping in that regard or will the work she does be included in her salary for working at the house?
Answer
If the worker’s employment duties were related to household matters only, then the agreement should be honored, and she should only attend to household duties. If you now require her to assist you with your business, then the employment agreement or contract may be re-negotiated, or an extra salary can be offered for the extra duties required.
