Salaah in Tights
Question
Is it permissible for males and females to read Salaah wearing tights and thereafter put on loose-fitting shorts which covers half of the thigh? The shape of the entire leg can be discerend with the tights.
Answer
The Salaah will be valid if the tights are not transparent. However, one should dress in an appropriate manner when standing before Allah Ta’ala. The dressing described in the question is not the dressing of the righteous and pious, hence it is abhorred. [Kitaabun Nawaazil Pg.95 Vol.4]

(قَوْلُهُ لَا يَصِفُ مَا تَحْتَهُ) بِأَنْ لَا يُرَى مِنْهُ لَوْنُ الْبَشَرَةِ احْتِرَازًا عَنْ الرَّقِيقِ وَنَحْوِ الزُّجَاجِ (قَوْلُهُ وَلَا يَضُرُّ الْتِصَاقُهُ) أَيْ بِالْأَلْيَةِ مَثَلًا، وَقَوْلُهُ وَتَشَكُّلُهُ مِنْ عَطْفِ الْمُسَبَّبِ عَلَى السَّبَبِ. وَعِبَارَةُ شَرْحِ الْمُنْيَةِ: أَمَّا لَوْ كَانَ غَلِيظًا لَا يُرَى مِنْهُ لَوْنُ الْبَشَرَةِ إلَّا أَنَّهُ الْتَصَقَ بِالْعُضْوِ وَتَشَكَّلَ بِشَكْلِهِ فَصَارَ شَكْلُ الْعُضْوِ مَرْئِيًّا فَيَنْبَغِي أَنْ لَا يَمْنَعَ جَوَازَ الصَّلَاةِ لِحُصُولِ السَّتْرِ. اه (الدر المختار ص410 ج1)
