Salaah Behind a Salafi
Question
Will my prayer will be valid if the Imaam is one who is of the belief that Allah Ta’ala has two hands and two eyes Nauzubillah, or he is a Salafi or from among the Ahle-Hadith, who also accept this belief?
Answer
If the Salafi is moderate in his temperament and acts on some Hadith with religiousness, and he does not speak ill of the pious predecessors, then Salaah behind such a Ghair Muqallid is valid. However, if the Salafi speaks ill of the pious predecessors and he is a Fitna-maker, then Salaah behind him is Makrooh, and in certain instances, Salaah behind him will be null and void. Since the Salafi in question holds a contradicting view to the Ahnaaf in regards to the Being of Allah Ta’ala, it is best that he is not appointed as the Imaam. [Kitaabun Nawaazil Pg.281/282 Vol….]
