Using Fragrance-Free Cosmetics in Ihraam
Question
Scented lotions or perfumes are not permissible whilst in Ihraam. Will products that do not have a fragrance but instead, have a chemical smell, be permissible to apply or touch in Ihraam?
Answer
In principle the Fuqaha have mentioned that anything which has a fragrance must not be utilized in Ihraam. Hence, a chemical smell will not fall under the category of fragrance. Therefore, there is no harm in using such a lotion that is fragrance-free. [Re: – Umdatun Nasik Pg. 245]
