Completing A Khatm Of Quraan Sharif In English
Question
Will a Quraan Sharif Khatm be completed if 4 paras were recited in the English language, or should those 4 paras be repeated to complete the Khatm?
Answer
Tilawaat of the Quraan Sharif will only be valid in the Arabic language as it has been revealed to Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam, hence the 4 paras recited in English will have to be repeated for the Khatam to be complete.

النَّصُّ) يَعْنِي قَوْله تَعَالَى ﴿قُرْآنًا عَرَبِيًّا غَيْرَ ذِي عِوَجٍ﴾ [الزمر: ٢٨] وَغَيْرَهُ، فَالْفَرْضُ قِرَاءَةُ الْقُرْآنِ وَهُوَ عَرَبِيٌّ فَالْفَرْضُ الْعَرَبِيُّ (قَوْلُهُ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ فِيهَا بِهَذِهِ اللُّغَةِ) يَتَضَمَّنُ مَنْعَ أَخْذِ الْعَرَبِيَّةِ فِي مَفْهُومِ الْقُرْآنِ وَلِذَا قَالَ تَعَالَى ﴿وَلَوْ جَعَلْنَاهُ قُرْآنًا أَعْجَمِيًّا﴾ [فصلت: ٤٤] .
فَإِنَّهُ يَسْتَلْزِمُ تَسْمِيَتُهُ قُرْآنًا أَيْضًا لَوْ كَانَ أَعْجَمِيًّا.
وَالْحَقُّ أَنَّ قُرْآنًا الْمُنَكَّرَ لَمْ يُعْهَدْ فِيهِ نَقْلٌ عَنْ الْمَفْهُومِ اللُّغَوِيِّ فَيَتَنَاوَلُ كُلَّ مَقْرُوءٍ.
أَمَّا الْقُرْآنُ بِاللَّامِ فَالْمَفْهُومُ مِنْهُ الْعَرَبِيُّ (فتح القدير جضص٢١٥)
