Ascertaining One’s Haidh Habit
Question
A lady has recently accepted Islam and has no past record of her Haidh habit. Please advise.
Answer
She will have to exercise her mind and ascertain what her last habit of Haidh was. If she is not certain, then she may use the dominance of her mind in order to reach a conclusion. If there is no overpowering thought, she should consider her Haidh habit as 10 days.

باب المرأة يمد بها الدم فلا تدري أي أيامها كانت أيام حيضها
وقال محمد بن الحسن في امرأة كانت تحيض في كل شهر حيضة، فاستحيضت (3)، فطبّقت (4) بين القرءين جميعاً، ونسيت أيام أقرائها (5) في عدد الأيام والموضع الذي كانت تحيض فيه، فإنها تمضي على أكبر (6) رأيها وظنها في ذلك؛ لأن أكبر (7) الرأي يجوز في الصلاة المفروضة إذا دخل فيها الشك وفي الوضوء فكذلك هذا

حكم من نسيت أَيَّامهَا
والتاسعة امْرَأَة نسيت ايامها فِي الْحيض وايامها فِي الطُّهْر اَوْ نسيت كِلَاهُمَا عملت على غَالب رأيها فان لم يكن لَهَا رَأْي عملت من الْحيض على عشرَة ايام وَمن الطُّهْر على خَمْسَة عشر يَوْمًا
