Question
If no one in the community sat for ie’tikaaf. Will only the mature males be sinful or mature males, females and children will also be sinful.
Answer
Immature children aren’t answerable. A woman cannot perform ie’tikaaf in the masjid, she should ascertain a portion in her house for ie’tikaaf. If no one performs ietikaa, then everyone that is mature will be answerable for leaving out the sunnah of ie’tikaaf. (271)
