Is Udhiyyah Sunnah or Fard? What if someone didn’t do Qurbani for few years?
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
It is wajib upon an adult, sane Muslim who owns excess money equivalent to the Nisab of zakah on the 10th, 11th, 12th of Dhul-Hijjah to slaughter a goat or sheep or 1/7th of cattle .
If Qurbani was wajib on a person in the past and he did not do the Qurbani, he will have to make up for it by giving cash equal to the value of Qurbani in charity .
