Question

Q. I have a worker. She says she is Muslim and said she went to classes to the Musjid. But she believes all other religions are correct in their way. Is it permissible to give zakat to her?

Answer

It is not permissible to give her Zakaat. She is not yet a Muslim until she believes that only one religion is correct and that is Islam. This is a most essential belief in Islam.

Allah Ta’ala states, “Whoever seeks a faith other than Islam, it will never be accepted from him, and he, in the Hereafter, will be among the losers.” (Quran 3/85)

She should be advised and guided accordingly.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows Best

Ask Jamiat KZN

Fatawa SA is an independent, read-only index of fatawa already published by Jamiatul Ulama KZN. It is not a fatwa service. For your own situation, ask the issuing Darul Ifta directly.
