Snake as pets?
Question
Salaams…is it permissible to keep a snake as a pet?
Answer
The Hadith has encouraged the killing of snakes, lizards and scorpions. Thus, it is strongly discouraged to keep such creatures as pets.

Fatawa SA is an independent, read-only index of fatawa already published by Jamiatul Ulama KZN. It is not a fatwa service. For your own situation, ask the issuing Darul Ifta directly.
