Washing after relieving oneself
Question
After defecating, I clean myself for a long time around and inside of the anus. After sometime again when I put my finger deep inside the anus (the innermost place where finger can reach) I still find stool there. It is very painful and time consuming and I keep on checking it even later. Please tell me the proper method of washing and should I ignore that which is inside of the anus?
Answer
When making istinja ensure that there are no traces of impurity left around the anal passage. In order for the istinja to be complete, you do not need to remove everything inside the passage.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

(وصفة الاستنجاء) بالماء أن يستنجي بيده اليسرى بعدما استرخى كل الاسترخاء إذا لم يكن صائما ويصعد أصبعه الوسطى على سائر الأصابع قليلا في ابتداء الاستنجاء ويغسل موضعها ثم يصعد بنصره ويغسل موضعها ثم يصعد خنصره ثم سبابته فيغسل حتى يطمئن قلبه أنه قد طهر بيقين أو غلبه ظن ويبالغ فيه إلا أن يكون صائما ولا يقدر بالعدد إلا أن يكون موسوسا فيقدر في حقه بالثلاث كذا في التبيين (الفتاوى الهندية 1/49)
(قوله وسن الاستنجاء بنحو حجر منق)
وأشار بقوله منق إلى أن المقصود هو الإنقاء وإلى أنه لا حاجة إلى التقييد بكيفية من المذكورة في الكتب نحو إقباله بالحجر في الشتاء وإدباره به في الصيف لاسترخاء الخصيتين فيه لا في الشتاء وفي المجتبى المقصود الإنقاء فيختار ما هو الأبلغ والأسلم عن زيادة التلويث (البحر الرائق 1/252)
