Question

A man wants to name his child Luqmaan, however his parents have requested that the childs name be changed to Talha. I fully understand the status of parents in one's life, however will it be permissible for the man to name his son Luqmaan even without his parents approval?

Answer

Yes, it is permissible for him to keep his child's name Luqmaan, however pleasing his parents and fulfilling their wishes is an act of great virtue and reward in the sight of Allah Ta'ala.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
