Keeping Muslim names
Question
Is it permissible to name one's son after a video game character called "Shang Tsung"? It has a good meaning. It's origin is Chinese. I have heard that you may keep a name from any language as long as it has a good meaning. Like how some people keep the name "Rawshin" which isn't Arabic but it's still acceptable.
Answer
Keep Muslim names and the names of the pious.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
