Dishwashing liquid which contains ethyl alcohol

Is ethyl alcohol from corn halal? the reason I wanted to know is because I got a reply from a company who said they use ethyl alcohol from corn in their dish washing liquid, so is this washing up liquid permissible to use, because it is washed off anyway.
