Pronunciation of the letter dhwaad
Question
My son's name is Rizwaan. Some people say it's not a name as the correct name is Ridwaan. Then again some people say it is a name like the name Razia and Radia, Riaz and Riaad, etc. Should I change his name? He is 16 years old and completing his hifz soon.
Answer
It is difficult to get an English equivalent for the letter dhwaad. It is best to get the correct pronunciation from an expert qari. However, don't make this an issue.
