Maintaining moderation in friendship
Question
What is the meaning (tafsir) of these words by Luqman Al hakim (A.S): " Don't be so sweet that people swallow you up, nor so bitter that they spit you out"
Answer
Maintain moderation in your relationship with people. When someone becomes over friendly then generally people take advantage over him. Similarly, if you have a disinclination towards someone then don't be impolite.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
