Gheebat
Question
When you use to gossip and you ask Allah for forgiveness and promise never to do it again. Should you also ask the people you gossip about for forgiveness or is the one between you and Allah Ta'ala enough?
Answer
If the people whose gheebat you had made do not know about the gheebat, then ask them for maafi in a general way. You do not have to inform them of the gheebat. You should also seek forgiveness from Allah Ta'ala for yourself and for all those people whose gheebat you made.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
