Haraam cat food
Question
A friend has recently given me cat food for my pet cat, and I know that it is not permissible for her to consume it, what do I do with the food?
Answer
If it contains carrion it is impermissible to feed it to a human or an animal. It should be disposed of.
And Allah Ta'ala knows best.

حُرِّمَتْ عَلَيْكُمُ الْمَيْتَةُ وَالدَّمُ وَلَحْمُ الْخِنزِيرِ وَمَا أُهِلَّ لِغَيْرِ اللَّـهِ بِهِ وَالْمُنْخَنِقَةُ وَالْمَوْقُوذَةُ وَالْمُتَرَدِّيَةُ وَالنَّطِيحَةُ وَمَا أَكَلَ السَّبُعُ إِلَّا مَا ذَكَّيْتُمْ وَمَا ذُبِحَ عَلَى النُّصُبِ وَأَن تَسْتَقْسِمُوا بِالْأَزْلَامِ ذَٰلِكُمْ فِسْقٌ الْيَوْمَ يَئِسَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِن دِينِكُمْ فَلَا تَخْشَوْهُمْ وَاخْشَوْنِ الْيَوْمَ أَكْمَلْتُ لَكُمْ دِينَكُمْ وَأَتْمَمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ نِعْمَتِي وَرَضِيتُ لَكُمُ الْإِسْلَامَ دِينًا فَمَنِ اضْطُرَّ فِي مَخْمَصَةٍ غَيْرَ مُتَجَانِفٍ لِّإِثْمٍ فَإِنَّ اللَّـهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ ﴿المائدة: ٣﴾
رجل ذبح كلبه أو حماره جاز أن يطعم سنوره من ذلك وليس له أن يطعمه خنزيره أو شيئا من الميتة كذا في السراجية (فتاوى هندية 5/361)
