Qismat and taqdeer
Question
1. What is the difference between ‘qismat’ and ‘taqdeer’?
2. Which is the destiny that Allah has set for us and will happen no matter what? Also which is the destiny that Allah, if pleased with our Iman and Aamal, may change?
Answer
1. They are one and the same thing.
2. Don't put your mind to all these things. Go on striving and working and beg Allah Ta`ala's assistance. Allah will definitely accept your du`aas.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

Fatawa SA is an independent, read-only index of fatawa already published by Mufti Online — Madrasah Ta'leemuddeen. It is not a fatwa service. For your own situation, ask the issuing Darul Ifta directly.
