Reciting Surah Faatihah in janaazah salaah
Question
I read in tafseer Ibn kathir that, Salah will be a invalid if Surah Fateha is not recited in it. Is it permissible to recite Surah Fateha in Salaatul Janazah?
Answer
Salaatul Janaazah is not a salaah, it is a du`aa. According to us Surah Faatihah is not recited in salaatul janaazah.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
