Waiting for an Islamic year to pass for zakaat to be waajib
Question
A female becomes baligh and is already in possesion of wealth which makes her liable for Zakaat - does she have to wait one year - that is, must she be in possesion of the wealth as a 'major' (as opposed to being a minor) for one year before paying zakaat?
Answer
Yes.
