Accepting a non-Muslim's word in regard to halaal
Question
I've read the self claims of Halal food by a non Muslim/non Muslim company/its Muslim employees are not acceptable. Is it true? If it is, then can we consume food made in non Muslim companies by just checking the label and finding no haram ingredients in it even if it doesn't have halal certification logos on it?
Answer
A non-muslim's word for halaal is not acceptable.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
