Using zakaat money to grow maize to feed orphan children
Question
Will zakaat be fulfilled when I give the zakat money for orphaned madrasah children to utilize to grow maize and other crops to feed them?
Answer
It is not valid. The precondition for the validity of zakaat is that the recipient must be made the owner of the wealth.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
