Are non-Muslims ummatis?
Question
Are non-Muslims ummati's or not? If not then who are they?
Answer
The nation of any Nabi is regarded as the ummah of that specific Nabi. Hence, in the Qur'an Shareef, Allah Ta'ala speaks about the Bani Israa'eel being the ummah of the Ambiyaa that were sent to them. Among the Bani Israa'eel there were those who believed in the Nabi, and those who disbelieved. From among the ummah of any Nabi were those who were loyal to the Nabi, believed in his prophethood and followed his teachings. These ummatis were known as the believers of that Nabi (ummat-e-ijaabat). As for those who were not loyal to the Nabi and did not believe in his prophethood, these ummatis were known as the disbelievers of the Nabi (ummat-e-dawat).
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
